About Us

Marketing know-how. Know who we are.

The American Marketing Association (AMA) is the world's largest and most comprehensive professional society of marketers, consisting of more than 38,000 members worldwide. There are 75 chapters throughout North America, including Cincinnati.

With over 600 members in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, the Cincinnati AMA is considered the place to tap into marketing know-how, learn what's hot in marketing today and most importantly, spur professional development.

Cincinnati AMA members represent a wide array of marketing and marketing research roles in the public, private, academic and not-for-profit sectors.

  • Approximately one-fourth have been AMA members for 5 years or more.
    • One has been a member since 1949!
  • Approximately one-third of our members hold Director positions and above: CEO/Owner/President (9%); VP/EVP/SVP (12%); Director (12%).
  • Approximately 13% are Managers/Senior Managers

The Cincinnati AMA President, Pat Frew, says it best:

The Cincinnati Chapter of the AMA is poised for great things in 2007-2008.  Last year we saw unprecedented growth of 18 percent among professional members.  We expanded from one to five Special Interest Groups.  We inaugurated a Chief Marketing Officers Roundtable providing dialogue with and among prominent corporations Cincinnati Bell, Fifth Third Bank, Cintas and Midland.

We also instituted programming partnerships with the Northern Kentucky and Clermont Chambers of Commerce.  We also partnered with the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber in developing a Young Professionals group to support the Chamber’s efforts to attract and retain “YPS” in our region.  Two of our luncheons featuring a National Football League executive and our Word of Mouth Marketing panel attracted our largest luncheon crowds in a decade.

All these developments pave the way for our theme for the upcoming program year, Leading Voices, Lasting Change.  We will continue to grow attendance at our monthly luncheons with dynamic national speakers from leading institutions such as the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, First Watch Restaurants, to name a few.  We also will strengthen Chapter finances allowing us to further develop board members and strengthen our viability as an organization.  The Chapter will continue to be a strong advocate for the marketing profession and will excel in offering networking, business development and professional development opportunities for our members.  We hope you will leverage your involvement in the chapter by getting involved in one of our many committees.
