We couldn’t continue to grow and develop as an organization if it weren’t for our dedicated committees. Any AMA member can serve on a committee. Please contact the committee chairperson if you are interested in learning more about a particular committee or fill out the form below with your interests.

Below are a few immediate needs and information to contact committees. Make the most out of your AMA membership today with reaching out to volunteer!

Technology Committee

Are you a technophile looking to use or learn new marketing tools? Exercise those tech muscles while helping out the chapter…

Need:

  • Three to five volunteers to provide hands-on assistance with CRM tools, marketing automation, analytics and website support

Commitment:

  • 2-4 hours/week

Benefits to volunteering:

  • Learn and enhance skills with marketing tech such as Silverpop, Salesforce, and WordPress

Young Professionals Committee

Seeking both the young and also the experienced marketers! We want to put you two together to make beautiful marketing music…

Need:

  • Professional Development activities
    • Looking for potential committee leaders and directors
    • Work with team to create development opportunities and events
  • Communication and Event promotion (work with MarComm, use social media, etc.)
  • Professional mentoring
    • Work with local higher education institutions to cultivate and grow the mentoring program
    • Join our version of ‘Little Brothers, Little Sisters’ and share your experience with AMA YPs, someone new to the industry and hungry to learn

Commitment:

  • 2-4 hours/week

Benefits to volunteering:

  • You don’t have to be newer in your marketing career to be a part of this group
  • Some responsibilities can be done from the comfort of your desk, laptop, tablet or even smartphone

Membership Committee

Do you have a little black book of corporate and industry contacts? Or do you need to create one?

Need:

  • Sales professionals and/or AMA enthusiasts to serve as event ambassadors, new member development and/or existing member engagement specialists
    • Experience and contacts with corporate and/or agency marketing leaders helpful but not required
    • Experience in Salesforce.com helpful but not required

Commitment:

  • 1-2 hours a week on activities like direct outreach, attending AMA chapter events and networking with attendees to promote engagement

Benefits to volunteering:

  • Low-time commitment ambassador roles add purpose and opportunity to already valuable event participation
  • Professional networking opportunities
  • Opportunity to gain expertise in Salesforce.com

Job Transition Special Interest Group

Everyone has ~or needs~ a job sometimes. Will you help pay it forward?

Need:

  • Partner with the Job Transition SIG leaders:
    • Act as alternate meeting leader and moderator when SIG leaders are not available to conduct the events
    • Attend monthly meetings and occasional preparation/post-meeting organization and recordkeeping

Benefits to volunteering:

  • Give back to marketing community while helping others in their careers.

Special Events Committee

Is event planning your secret super power? Put it to work for the Cincinnati AMA…

Need:

  • Help lead, plan and execute major chapter events:
    • Pinnacle Awards volunteers (May)
      • Nomination process and implementation
      • Write program
      • New creative ideas for planning and executing awards ceremony and presenting awards
    • Holiday Luncheon volunteers (December)

Commitment:

  • 1-3 hours/week with some additional hours required closer to events

Benefits to volunteering:

  • Exposure within AMA chapter
  • Learn and enhance event planning skills

Signature Speaker Series

Always wanted to rub elbows with the movers and shakers in our industry? Or are you a giant who can help us find other captains of our industry?

Need:

  • Five to six semi-active volunteers to help search, vet and procure speakers for Signature Speaker events
  • MarComm liaison volunteer
  • Sponsorship liaison volunteer

Commitment:

  • 1-3 hours/week with some additional hours required closer to events

Benefits to volunteering:

  • Exposure to all aspects of event planning
  • Opportunity to work with every other committee in AMA

Sponsorship Committee

Those company logos on marketing materials and around the chapter events don’t just magically appear; we are always actively recruiting sponsors for our events and such…

Need:

  • Two-three established professionals (sales experience a plus) to assist with prospecting and reaching out to potential sponsors for supporting chapter needs and events – SSS luncheons, Holiday Luncheon, SIG events and overall chapter sponsorships

Commitment:

  • 3 hours/week

Benefits to volunteering:

  • Grow professional network
  • Enhance selling skills
  • Add to your industry knowledge

Volunteer Committee

Attention bright and creative marketing utility players! Hone your skills and build your Outlook contact address book…

Need:

  • A few folks to help us identify, recruit and place volunteers in fulfilling roles across the chapter!
  • Guide creation of innovative new programs to build our volunteer base
  • Work with other committees to make sure they are properly staffed
  • Also, we are always on the lookout for potential leaders to learn the ropes and bring your skills to the chapter and potentially the board

Commitment:

  • Averages a few hours a month in attending AMA chapter events and networking with attendees to promote engagement and/or interacting with the committee on logistics, etc.

Benefits to volunteering:

  • Low time commitment
  • Professional networking opportunities
